Da Main Course: Daddy

So it's 12:45am on March 25 and I am waiting for my son Isaiah William Rodriguez to make his appearance. We have been at the hospital for for 11 hours now and the anticipation is killing me right now. When is he going to be born, what will he look like, how much is life going to change?

As I sit here with all this extra time on my hands I can't help but think about the spiritual aspect of it and how this relates to our relationship with God. I wonder if this is how God feels before we accept Him into our lives. He waits anxiously for us to look up to him and realize our need for a savior, just like my son will look up at me. He is waiting to wrap his arms around us and welcome us home, in the same way I am waiting to hold my little boy for the first time.

I love my son and i have never even met him before, and God loves us even though we sin against him. He will be totally dependent on me to do everything for him, in the same way we should be totally dependent on God for everything in our lives.

You are God's little boy or girl and he so much wants to be a part of your life. To help you grow, to teach you new things, to let you sit on his lap. But will you let him be your "Daddy?"

NEW YOUTH WORSHIP ROOM

We opened our new Youth Worship Room this past Sunday. The room looks great and everyone enjoyed it. I know that God is going to do some amazing things in the room.

High School Bible Study

Last night was our monthly bible study for our high school students. We are currently going through the book of Philippians. We also were able to celebrate Kevin Moore's birthday with some California Tortilla. What a great night of food, fellowship and God's word.

SNOW TUBING 2010

Every year we take a trip to Whitetail Ski Resort for Presidents day to go snow tubing. This year we took a group of 38 youth and adults. It's a great way to hang out together on a day with no school. Check out some pics from our trip...

Tubing Trip Permission Slips

This is the funnest day trip of the year!!! Snow Tubing at Whitetail! Be at the church AT 9:30. Each student should bring $25 plus money for food. In addition, two permission slips need to be completed for each child... you can print them off and bring them with you, or we will have them available at the church, as well.

Trip to DC Canceled

I hate to do this yet again, but we are going to have to postpone our trip to DC. Apparently there is absolutely nowhere for us to park downtown near any parks because of the mounds of snow piled up everywhere. I will work on trying to figure out another time and keep you all posted. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
